A man who was killed in a crash while on a car rental drive in the Port Angeles neighbourhood was the 38th pedestrian to die in Vancouver in 2017.

The man, who has not been identified, was a driver who was heading to a local bar on the day of the crash.

It is the fourth fatal car crash in the city in less than two years.

(Michael Kappeler/CBC)”He was a great driver,” said John Cappelli, the city’s director of transportation.

“It’s a terrible tragedy and it’s a shame for the community.

But he was just a great, kind and generous person.”

The city is trying to figure out how to help families, said Cappella.

The driver was a 35-year-old man who had just moved to the city from Alberta.

He was driving a blue Nissan Altima when the vehicle veered off the road and struck a pedestrian at about 7 p.m.

Monday.

The pedestrian died at the scene.

The city will use the money to help people who need to access care, Cappellisaid.

“This is a tragedy, and we want to help.

We will work with them.”

The man’s car was towed Monday afternoon and will be used to replace the passenger side with an SUV.

He had been working in the automotive field, and was not an Uber driver, according to the company’s statement.

The company is still working to identify a possible cause of the accident.

In 2017, the number of pedestrian deaths in the Vancouver area dropped to the lowest level since 2014.

In 2016, there were 13 pedestrian deaths.

There were also 11 car crashes and two other fatal accidents in 2017, including one that left a 25-year old man dead.

In a report released this month, the City of Vancouver said the pedestrian deaths are “an alarming and preventable toll.”

Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson said he wants to see changes in the law to allow more cars to be driven on city streets.

He said it is imperative that the city get better at monitoring and reporting crashes.

“If we want people to be safe, we have to do something about this,” he said.

The number of car crashes in the area dropped last year to a low of nine, according a 2016 report by the city.

But last year, there was a six-fold increase in collisions between pedestrians and vehicles, which was attributed to more people driving on the roads.

In the last five years, there have been two fatal collisions, including the fatal collision of a woman on a bus last year.
