Progressive rental vehicle company, Progressive, has announced that it is expanding its services in Louisville, and will be providing auto rental services to the city as of December 30.
The new Louisville operation will offer car rental from its own parking lot and will have a number of partners including Uber and Lyft.
The company, which was founded in 2014, has been operating in Louisville since 2013, and has since expanded to other cities around the country, including Orlando and Atlanta.
The city of Louisville is known for its progressive environment, with a city council seat, a city manager, and the highest percentage of progressive members in the state.
“I am excited to expand our services in our hometown, Louisville, which is one of the most progressive cities in the nation,” said Ryan Pfeffer, co-founder of Progressive, in a statement.
“We have a strong, active community and are looking forward to continuing to grow our business and provide more value to our customers.”
The new service will have an estimated population of approximately 15,000 people.
The startup also said it is looking to grow the service’s services in the coming months.
“Our goal is to expand the reach of our service in our community and will soon announce plans to hire additional staff,” Pfefer said.
“While we are committed to delivering a great customer experience, we also have great plans for the future.
We are excited to work with our partners to provide this exciting service to the City of Louisville and the surrounding communities.”
Progressive, which has an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 on Yelp, also announced that they will be hiring as of January 2.
The firm said that it plans to provide drivers with the ability to rent cars with their own vehicles.
“This is a major milestone in the growth of our team and we are looking to hire people with a proven track record of success,” Pfer said in the statement.
The Louisville office is expected to open in the first quarter of 2018.
